Working within the Library’s Science subject team, you will provide exemplary services as librarian for departments within the Faculty, currently as Librarian for Life Sciences.

You will:

Working as part of the Disability Service you will provide high-quality advice and support to disabled students by assessing and identifying needs, recommending relevant and personalised reasonable adjustments that enable them to access their studies and remove barriers to their success. This will include assisting students to access specialist funded support such as Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) to help meet their individual support needs.

You will work collaboratively to co-ordinate support across a range of University professional services, academic departments and external agencies regarding disabled student cases, establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues to ensure effective signposting and referrals in response to risk, complex need or specialist services.

A significant proportion of your time will be spent conducting appointments with students. Most appointments will be in person (on VR成人视频 premises), although you will at times also meet with students remotely (especially during the pre-arrival period).

You will:

• have experience of casework management relating to students or clients with disabilities, mental health difficulties or long-term medical conditions

You'll provide email and phone-based support on a whole range of queries from setting up new vacancies, visa requirements, advertising options, setting up interviews, contracts and right to work checks. Using our Recruitment ATS (Stonefish) and Payroll system (iTrent) along with MS Office you will coordinate and administer the whole recruitment process to deliver an outstanding experience for managers and candidates.

Working with colleagues across Academic Registry and the wider University, you will support the implementation of a new curriculum management function within the University’s student records system (SITS), assisting in its roll out to academic departments. Outside of the Dean’s Office, the Alumni Relations & External Engagement team manages the SoM’s relationships with a range of key stakeholders, notably including: SoM alumni; corporations; charitable organisations; industry bodies; and government. You will handle 1st and 2nd line desktop support issues as part of a Windows 11 rollout project. The organisation is broadening its IT Support and therefore support in these areas may also be required. 

Key skills required for this role

Windows 11 deployments 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide 1st and 2nd line desktop support to end users. 
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and support of Windows operating systems on devices. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Windows 11 deployment. 
• Swap out devices as required and address any ongoing technical issues for users.
• Work closely with IT teams to ensure minimal disruption during the installation process.
